The roulette game originated in France and it dates back to year 1842.there are two types of roulette famous these days one is the European roulette and another one is the American roulette. The former one is well known and played at the city of “Monte carlo” and later is played at the city of “ las vegas”.

How to play roulette
The roulette game is played on table with wheel and spinning board. The player has to rotate the ball given on the spinning board. The player has to guess the landing of the ball in the board, if he or she is able to get it right the player wins the amount based on his betting. Though this game appears like random chances, it involves some methodology and strategies too. As mentioned earlier the roulette is of two types i.e. European roulette and American roulette. European roulette consists of 37 slots and house edge of 2.36 whereas American roulette has 38 slots and house edge of 5.26.

Instructions for playing roulette
Player has to buy special roulette chips before getting on to the roulette table. The chips given are of different colors to avoid confusion with opponent roulette chips and value of chip is printed on the chip itself. At the start the player has to bet on the numbers of his wish on the wheel. The dealer (fellow who spins the wheel) spins the wheel after the end of all players’ bet. The ball after the spin comes to rest in a particular slot on the table. The ball that is on that particular slot is the winning number. The winner is decided on the number of ball the player has made bet on it, which is on the slot. Roulette table has minimum and maximum bet. Thus based on the minimum bet player has to make the inside and outside bets.

Inside bets
The different types of inside bets are straight up, split bit, street bets, corner bets, basket bets and double street bets and each individual bets has its own function, the meaning could be understood from the name itself.

Outside bets
The various kinds of outside bets are red black odd and even, dozen bets and column bets. A red black odd and even bet is done such that chips are placed in layout. Dozen bets consist of placing chips in 12 of consecutive order and column bet is similar to dozen bets but the chips are arranged in vertical columns.

The basic thing one need to understand after knowing the method and strategy of roulette is that it is a game of chances and no math calculation are involved. The main tip is to find European roulette, which has higher chance of winning because of one less number in slot than the American roulette, and this scenario is strongly supported in American casinos too.
